Esy and Sarah’s epic artistic collaborations were hecho en México in an internet café circa 1998, when Esy taught Sarah how to email. Then Sarah taught Esy how to make movies. Great things occurred. Now you can watch them here!

Esy Casey is a Filipino American Filmmaker.  She produced and shot THING WITH NO NAME (2008), which was nominated for the Haskell Wexler Prize for Best Cinematography at the Woodstock Film Festival. Her films with Sarah Friedland have been featured on the sites of  Filmmaker Magazine and Art Asia Pacific Magazine. For her latest film JEEPNEY she has received awards and fellowships from The Ford Foundation, The Princess Grace Foundation, and the Center for Asian American Media.

Sarah Friedland is the director and editor of THING WITH NO NAME (nominated for Best Documentary at the Los Angeles Film Festival) and THE RINK (opening night film New Jersey International Film Festival). Her award-winning editorial work (FREE TO FLY: THE US-CUBA LINK, principal editor, 2004, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF FRIDA KAHLO, assistant editor 2005) screened at the Tate Modern and MOMA. In  2009, she was named one of the top 10 filmmakers to watch by the Independent. She has been the recipient of grants from the Jerome Foundation, The William H. Prusoff Foundation, and the Paul Newman Foundation.
